Miscreants set fire to grass on Nethravati river side, sand mining suspected

Bantwal: Some miscreants reportedly set fire to the grass on the dry river bed of Nethravathi here, on Tuesday, May 3.
The incident took place near Kanchikara Pete in Panemangaluru. The water in the river has dried up and grass has grown on the dry river bed which was set ablze by some miscreants.

The locals have alleged that since sand mining is rampant in the region, the people involved in it must have set fire to extract sand.
