MLA Moideen Bhava slams Palemar over Surathkal market statement

Mangaluru: Criticizing MLA J Krishna Palemar for stating that the Surathkal market complex would not be a reality, MLA Moideen Bhava said that the state government has approved Rs 50 crore for the market complex and it will be a reality soon.

Addressing the media persons here on Friday October 27, MLA Moideen Bhava said, “the state government has approved Rs 50 crore for the market complex in Surthkal. The Mangaluru City Corporation will provide a grant worth Rs 11 crore. This will be completed in the first phase. For the second phase we will urge the state government for more funds.” He also assured of completing the project in three years.

He added that his constituency will get Rs 300 crore development projects and CM Minister Siddaramaiah would lay the foundation for all those development programmes very soon.

Mangaluru North MLA Mohiuddin Bava further said that Mangaluru North Constutuency will get two outlets of Indira Canteen at Surathkal and Kavoor. He also said that he has planned to set up an outlet in Vamanjoor.

The MLA also said that an RTO office in Surathkal will begin functioning in the next 10 days.

Corporator Shashidhar Hegde, Prathibha Kulai was present during the press meet.

During an interview, Palemar had stated that the market complex would not be a reality at an estimated cost of Rs 120 crore.
