Mangaluru: Mangaluru Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar has promised swift action against cattle thieves.
Recently, the department has received four cattle theft complaints. “We have received information that several thief teams are involved in this. Action will be taken as soon as possible to arrest the accused,” he said.
The cattle of several dairy farmers in Vamanjoor and Kavoor were stolen. A gang is suspected of being engaged in these cases. “Police stations have been urged to file theft cases without fail,” he added.
He further said that an investigation is underway to trace the origin of beef confiscated by Ullal police.
