M’luru police to approach Kerala court seeking Khalia Rafique’s murder accused

Mangaluru: The police from Mangaluru will approach Kerala court for the custody of Jiya, a notorious gang member who is accused in the assassination of his own gang leader Khalia Rafique, who was brutally murdered at Kotekaru in the City outskirts about five years ago on February 14, 2017. A case in this regard was registered at Ullala Police Station. Jiya was held by ATS Armed Force police personnel of Kerala at Mumbai Airport on Thursday November 11.

There was a lookout notice served on Jiya by both Kerala and Karnataka. Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar has informed that the City police will soon approach Kerala court seeking Jiya’s custody for further interrogation on murder case of Khalifa Rafique.

Earlier, the Ullala police had arrested some accused but the main accused Jiya was absconding. Later, Taslim, a don of Uppala origin was murdered too.

Jiya is also the man wanted by the Manjeshwar Police in the murder case of Aziz, and also in the murder of Asif Bayikatte which took place in Kanyana at Kerala border.
