M’luru: Six more SDPI activists held for cop assault case

Mangaluru: Six persons have been arrested for allegedly assaulting police officers during the SDPI event, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to 15.

During the SDPI programme held at Dr. Shyam Prasad Shetty ground on May 27, miscreants tried to run over a police constable who was on duty at a check point in Koddekkal-Kannur. They even abused the cops, with a video of the event becoming viral on social media.

The arrested has been identified as Safwan (26), Abdul Salam (23), Mohammed Sahil (23), and Mohammed Falah (20), all are Gurpur residents, Mohammed Hunaiz (23) from Suralpady, and Abdul Latif (31) from Inoli.
