Mangaluru:Two young women drowned at Surathkal’s NITK beach on Sunday April 10.
The deceased have been identified as Trisha and Vaishnavi, residents of Mangaluru, informed the police.
The accident happened while they were bathing as part of a family ritual at the beach. They were swept away by a massive wave.
According to sources, local swimmers and a beach patrol officer raced to the rescue, but they died on the way to the hospital.
