Mangaluru: For the first time, a large number of tourists of Gowda Saraswat Brahmin community of team ‘Youth of GSB’, performed the worship of the River Sindhu (Indus), one of the Sapta Nadia, seven rivers in the Ladakh region.
Speaking to NewsKarnataka Youth of GSB President Mangalpady Naresh Shenoy said, “Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the Pooja of Sindhu (Indus) River in Ladakh. Inspired by this, the Youth of GSB team performed the Kalpokta pooja on the river bed of the Sindhu, one of the oldest and largest river. It is said to be the first in the history of the GSB society.”
“As many as 160 tourists have travelled to Kashmir and Ladakh. Yogish Kamath Vice-President of Manjeshwar Madanteshwar Temple and Vedamurthy Gopalakrishna Bhat of Mangaluru Kathyayani Matha performed the Pooja,” he added.
