Mangaluru: Billing off Narendra Modi as the most inefficient Prime Minister of India, MLC Ivan D’Souza has said that the demonetisation move has been taken up to help the BJP leaders and their friends and that the move has regressed the nation by 20 years.
Addressing media persons at MCC office here on Saturday, he said that the All India Congress Committee has directed that protests must be held across the country and accordingly protests would be held in all the district headquarters.
Stating that the demonetisation has been a thoughtless move, he said that cashless society cannot be built without strengthening the banking system.
“After 50 days of hardships we do not know what is the volume of black money that has been recovered,” he said adding that over Rs 14,500 crore worth of notes have come back to the RBI. But they do not talk about this anywhere. It is now assumed that to get back Rs 400 crore worth of fake currency in the market, the government took back Rs 18,000 crore.
