Moral Policing: Attempt to assault foiled by police

Mangaluru: In another case of moral policing, an attempt to assault a boy, was foiled by the police. The incident happened on one of the busiest streets of the city f on Tuesday September 8. A group allegedly attempted to assault him when he was coming out a mall in Hampankatta in the company of a girl from another community.

Reportedly Arjun a youth who hails originally from Kerala came to the mall with two young girls, one from his community and another from a different community.  

A group youngsters stopped him to enquire why he was moving with the girl of another community and tried to assault him. However, as the  on lookers from another community at the same time resisted, the situation turned tense.

The police who arrived in time calmed down the situation and foiled the attempt to assault the youth. They also took Arjun and two girls to the police station. It is said all the three are the students of a same college in city.

Bunder police have registered a case against the team of youngsters who tried to assault Arjun.
