Mangaluru: The Mount Carmel Central School here celebrated the Spritely Kindergarten Day on Friday, December 21.
Chief guest Dr. Krishna Prasad, Principal Sr. Melissa, Joint Secretary Sr. Maria Jyothi, Administrator Sr. Carrissima, Coordinator Sr. Marie Lucy and the PTA Vice President Ryan Lobo were ushered in with a Purnakumbha welcome.
The students of LKG greeted the assembly with a dance invocation. Principal Sr. Melissa then accorded the chief guest and gathering a warm welcome.
Nursery kids offered tribute to the artistes of Karnataka by performing a folk dance. An action song by the LKG students glorified the bounties of nature. A Bengali dance was performed by another batch of little kids. A Konkani dance performance set most of the audience’s feet tapping and hearts jiving.
A beautiful bee dance performance by the little ones shed light on how these insects work and live a harmonious life.
Remembering ‘The Father of the Nation’ Mahathma Gandhi, the students of the UKG performed a heartwarming act.
Chief guest Dr. Krishna Prasad in his speech highlighted the potential one’s brain has and the need to tap it to its maximum capacity through integrated sensory approach. The kids have the capacity to learn much more than what we are satisfied with, he opined. He lauded the teachers who trained the young minds as they performed on stage excellently.
The performance on Save Environment and Importance of Water by UKG children was an eye opener to the audience to do their small part to conserve and preserve nature and its resources. The programme concluded with a lively tableau by UKG students which depicted the humble birth of the King of Kings Jesus Christ with a strong message of love, peace and joy.
Coordinator Sr. Marie Lucy acknowledged the presence of the guests and parents and commended the unstinted efforts of the staff in her vote of thanks.
