Mangaluru: Commenting on the decision regarding the inclusion of the Veerashaiva-Lingayats in the OBC list of the Central government, BJP state president and Mangaluru MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the issue has been resolved.
Speaking to reporters in Mangaluru on Saturday, the BJP MP said that Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has already issued a clarification regarding the matter. “The CM already gave a clarification and the issue was resolved yesterday itself,” he said.
Regarding the upcoming Cabinet reshuffle, Kateel and Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, who arrived in Mangaluru ahead of a Grama Swarajya convention in Bantwal, stated that there is no confusion and that the decision will jointly be taken by the CM and party high command.
Rubbishing all rumours regarding Yediyurappa’s replacement as CM, MP Kateel said that there have not been any discussions regarding a change in leadership. “There questions have been asked for the past three to four months. I ask you if any such discussions have taken place? So far, none of the party’s leaders have discussed a change in leadership in the state,” he said.
“There is no confusion regard the Cabinet reshuffle either and if MLAs demand a minister’s post, there is nothing wrong with that,” he said, adding that the final decision regarding the Cabinet reshuffle will be up to the CM and party national leaders.
“All the BJP MLAs will accept the party’s decision,” he added.
The DCM, who had been demanding that MLC C P Yogeeshwar be inducted into the Cabinet, also supported Kateel saying that the Chief Minister has the final authority to decide on the matter.
