Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Corporation and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) organised a vigilance awareness week as per the guidance of Central Vigilance Commission in the MCC building on Wednesday.The programme was inaugurated by MCC Mayor Harinath. He was given the e-certificate of registration for the e-pledge on the occasion who later handed over it Managing Director of MRPL H Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion the Mayor gave a clarion call to fight the menace of corruption. “Corruption is the biggest challenged faced by India. It has spread its tentacles to each and every field and sector. Development and corruption cannot go hand in hand,” he said.
The pledge of vigilance and anti-corruption was advocated to all the present including the employees of MCC Corporator Radhakrisha following the Mayor’s speech.
Chief Vigilance officer Ravindranath, Director of MRPL refinery Prasad, MCC Commissioner Nazeer, joint-commissioner Gokuldas Nayak and others were present at the occasion.
The vigilance week will be observed till November 5 from today.
