Much-awaited Tulu movie ‘Jabardasth Shankara’ released

Mangaluru: The much-awaited Tulu film ‘Jabardasth Shankara’, directed by renowned actor-director Devadas Kapikad, was released here at Big Cinemas on Friday, November 8.

Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) former chairman Suresh Ballal released the film and wished the team success.

Made under Jalanidhi Productions and Bolli Movies’ banner and produced by Anil Kumar and Lokesh Kotian, the film is being screened at Big Cinemas, PVR, Cinepolis in Mangaluru, Ashirvad in Udupi, INOX, Big Cinemas in Manipal, Natraj in Surathkal, Aruna in Puttur, and Santhosh in Sullia. It has also been released in Mumbai, Dubai, Oman, Qatar, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Goa, Hubbali, Shivamogga, Theerthahalli, Madikeri and New Delhi.

As Devadas Kapikad had announced that this film is an entertainment package, Tulu film lovers thronged the theatres on Friday to catch the movie. The audience was particularly curious about one fight scene, said to have taken about 14 days to shoot.

In the film, importance has been given to the customs, traditions and rituals of Tulunadu. The male lead of the film, Arjun Kapiakad has done justice to his role, the titular character ‘Shankara’. Nishmitha and Neetu, who play the female leads, have also performed well.

The film has three songs, all of which have been composed by veteran music composer Manikanth Kadri. Siddu is in-charge of photography and stunts have been choreographed by Mass Maada.
