Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district Muslim Central Committee condemned Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa for withdrawing compensation to the victims of police firing.

Committee president Mohammed Masood told reporters here on Wednesday, December 25 that Yediyurappa announced compensation only after communicating with Deputy Commissioner of the district, police department and other elected representatives. “What made him withdraw the decision? There must be some hidden agenda in withdrawing compensation to the victims,” he said.

Masood informed that Muslim Central Committee will not trust the video footages being released by the police department.

“These videos may have been edited or created with the purpose of hiding the mistakes of the police. If there is reality in their video footages, why they preferred to hide it, when chief minister visited the city?'” he questioned and added that the BJP government is trying to safeguard the criminals.
