Mangalore, March 1: A national level film and documentary making competition ‘Shooting Stars’ was conducted at Erics Mathias hall, organised by the department of journalism of St. Alloysius College.
The event was welcomed by head of the department of journalism, Bhavya Shetty.
The chief guest of the event was K M Chaitnaya, Kannada filmmaker and director of Aa dinagalu. He said, “Owing to the lack of preference of regional movies, it is very difficult to run a movie in Mangalore city.”
Fr Swebert D’Silva SJ, Principal, St. Aloysius College. Dr Veronica Judith Carlo, vice principal; Jayalakshmi Alva, lecturer were also graced the event.
Besides, the event was compered by Marissa Menezes and student convener was Pushyaraj Shetty.
Approximately, 30 colleges were participated in the event.
