Mangaluru: With saffron outfits resorting to forcibly stopping movie-goers from watching Shahrukh Khan starrer ‘Dilwale’ and the ruckus that followed after the same, the theatre owners are unwilling to screen the movie anymore. 
Addressing a news conference on Thursday, Mangaluru Police Commissioner S Murugan said that the theatre owners are not willing to screen the movie despite assurance from the police to provide security.
It may be recalled that saffron outfit members had stalled screening of the film as a repercussion to King Khan’s statements on ‘intolerance’.
While movie buffs were forcefully sent away from theatres, Activist Vidya Dinker had complaint to the police against several Bajrang Dal members, condemning their act. However, Ms Dinker was caught in eye of storm with hate messages being posted on social networking sites. Continuing her efforts to bring to book the perpetrators, Ms Dinker had written to the Home Minister seeking his attention to the kind of ‘immoral policing’ that has been going on by the Bajrang Dal goons.
Commissioner said that raged with Dinker’s complaint, an individual reportedly belonging to saffron outfits posted a hate message against her on a social networking site. The post attracted large number of shares and comments which were derogatory in nature. He informed that the user was immediately warned and was made to delete the post. However, the shared posts might still be doing rounds on the internet, he added.

Regarding religious speaker Dr Zakir Naik’s arrival to Mangaluru to deliver a keynote address at a programme, Murugan said that he has received applications regarding the nature of the programme and also request seeking permission for the same. He said that the applications are being scanned after which a decision whether or not to grant permission, will be taken.
The proposed visit of the controversial speaker has already drawn lot of flak from the saffron outfits.
