Mangaluru: “There is no shortcut to success. Hard work is the only way to attain success,” said former Head of Department of General Medicine in Father Muller Medical College (FMMC) Dr Venkatesh B M on Sunday, November 24.
He was addressing the gathering after receiving felicitation for the completion of silver jubilee celebration of his dedicated service in Father Muller Medical College. He said, ” Earlier, our profession was a noble one. However, due to various reasons, respect has been declining in recent days. Whatever is the scenario, we should be ready to sacrifice everything in order to save the lives of our patients.”
He also asked the young doctors to have patience while executing their duties. ” Success in our profession depends upon how we deal with the situation. If one is able to relieve stress and have patience, he will definitely become a good doctor,” he said.
Venkatesh thanked all colleagues, director and other staff of Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), parents and his family members for extending their cooperation while he was in service.
FMCI Director Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho presiding over the programme said, ” the attitudes like punctuality, honesty and hard work plays a pivotal role in one’s success. Having all these attitudes Venkatesh has succeeded to be a successful person in life. He is a role model for all those who want to attain greater heights in their profession.”
