Non-issuance of ticket may cost buses their licence

Mangaluru: Commissioner of Police T R Suresh Kumar cautioned of canceling the permit of buses which cheat the commuters by collecting fare but not issuing tickets.

During the weekly phone in-programme held at his office on Friday September 28, lot of complaints poured in about the non-issuing of tickets in buses. The complainants said that even when they demand for tickets the conductors evade and also behave in rude manner.

Responding to this, Commissioner of Police Suresh Kumar informed that strict action will be taken against such buses henceforth. Passengers must be provided tickets while traveling in a private bus, he said. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) informed that a total of 105 cases pertaining to overcrowding of buses, 95 cases for drivers not wearing uniform and 50 cases for non-issuing of tickets have been registered.

When a caller complained against autorickshaws which are plying without having licenses, Suresh Kumar assured of taking stringent action against such autorickshaw drivers.
