Kasargod: One person died and four others suffered severe injuries after a lorry and container collided here near Kumble bridge on October 15.
Biju Yeramaluuru(45), lorry driver from Alappu Chertala is the deceased. Babu(39) from Alappu who suffered serious injuries has been shifted to Mangaluru hospital. Santhosh, Santhin who were on the container also suffered injuries.
The mishap occured near Arikkady and Kumble bridge. The fish-laden lorry heading towards Alappuzha from Mangaluru collided with a container lorry arriving from the opposite direction. The driver lost control over the lorry and the vehicle fell into a ditch nearby.
Due to the mishap vehicular movement was halted for sometime. Kumble police and fire brigade rushed to the spot and cleard the road.
