Over 200 fish mill workers complain of food poisoning, hospitalised

Ullal: As many as 200 workers of Barakha fish mill fell ill after eating fish curry on Friday night, September 30. They have been shifted to hospitals in Deralakatte. Four of a same family are said to be in a critical condition.

According to sources, all the workers fell ill after they had their dinner on Friday night. It is gathered that most of them had symptoms like weakness. Many of them had started vomiting after which they were shifted to nearby hospitals. Few of them had to be admitted as out-patients due to non-availability of beds. As many as 50 patients have been treated at hospitals.

Surprisingly, a family of four from Urumane who fell ill after eating fish purchased from the market are said to be in a critical condition.
