Kasaragod: Creative and beautiful kites took to skies on Monday morning at the highest point of Kasargod-Posadigumpe and the lavish spectacle left everyone spellbound. From kids to elderly, everyone looked astonished by the sight of the kites soaring high. The Kite festival was organised as part of Vishwa Tuluvera Ayana, slated to be held in December at Badiyadka and the pre-cursor event was indeed a big hit.
Over 100 participants took part in the competition.
The highlight of the event were the magnificent kites of Kite India and Team Mangalore, who brought their special kites showcasing Yakshagana, Kathakali, Garuda etc.
The venue was dotted with stalls showcasing kites. Small kite shops too added to the glitz of the event.
Manjeshar Block Panchayat President A K M Ashraf, Kayyara Krista Raja Church Priest Victor D’Souza, Paivalike GP President Bharathi Shetty, Vishwa Tuluvere Ayana Organiser Rajesh Alva among others were present.
