Mangaluru: Reiterating his stand that the state must have a Dalit CM, Veteran Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary said that incumbent Home Minister G Parameshwar is the right candidate to lead the state as the Chief Minister.Addressing a news conference in the city on Thursday, Poojary said that even citizens of Karnataka are wanting to see Parameshwar as the CM, but some people within the Congress house are doing all kinds of ‘circus’ to avoid this from happening.
Reminding Siddaramaiah that he is not respecting the Congress partyworkers, Poojary said that the Congress party has been built by the party workers and a leader must respect them.
Talking about the prevailing condition within the Congress party at the state, he said that the CM and KPCC President must take the onus of repairing the party.
Poojary, commenting on the Union budget said that it was a balanced budget where attempts have been made to ensure something is given to everyone.
“However, it is not possible to appease everyone,” he said adding that a budget which is praised by the rich is often an ‘anti-poor’ budget.
He pointed that the budget does not speak of drought-relief to the farmers and hence opined that in such a situation it is the duty of the 19 MPs elected from the state to fight for waiver of loan of the farmers.
