Mangaluru: The recent alleged involvement of H Y Meti in a sex scandal got former union minister B Janardhana Poojary irked. In a statement made on Monday, December 12, Poojary demanded for the resignation of Meti, the 71 year old Karnataka State Excise Minister for the mentioned reason.
“Karnataka Congress party’s name is being ruined by H Y Meti and it looks like Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is covering up for him. On Sunday, Siddaramaiah refused to speak about Meti’s actions and inturn got mad at the media. Such a stubborn chief minister is just a burden on the party’s image. CM should have ideally thrown Meti out of the cabinet if Meti did not submit resignation”, Poojary said.
When informed by media members about both Meti and the woman denying sex scandal charges, Poojary said that the woman is definitely being pressurized by someone to change her stance since she went live on television just yesterday on the same regard. Poojary also mentioned that G Parameshwara can be the next best candidate for the Chief Ministers post if Siddaramaiah does not demand a resignation from Meti or expel him out of the cabinet.
