Mangaluru: Four persons were injured when a petrol tanker collided against a private city bus at Kolya on national highway 66 on Friday, November 18.
Bus passengers Dhanalaxmi, Shobha and Deepika from Kumpala and bus driver, Krishnappa are the injured. It is gathered that the Mangaluru-bound bus was taking a turn near Kolya when the petrol tanker moving towards Kerala rammed into the bus. The tanker hit the portion earmarked for women passengers and the driver.
Accident spot
The particular spot is accident prone as several accidents have taken place over there. Several persons were injured in a car-bus collision last month at the same spot. The presence of warnings signs and barricades make no difference to reckless drivers. Locals have urged concerned officials to take steps to avert tragedies.
