Mangaluru: As the schools reopened on Monday October 25, a photo in which two children repairing the muddy road has gone viral in the social media with many netizens lauding the act.
In the photo, two small children are seen fillinb the soil on to a waterlogged muddy road, reportedly from Mudayithota in Bellare Village, Puttur Taluk of Dakshina Kannada District. The Bellare – Mandevu road is filled with potholes and is such that people are unable to walk as it is badly damaged owing to rain. And unable to see this, two local school students Vallisha Rama and Tanvi set out to repair the road in their own little way.
Thousands of netizens praised the efforts of children, and also condemned the apathy of State Government. Villagers said that most of rural parts of the District has been facing the same problem but the authorities concerned have not taken any steps in this regard.
