Pilikula Zoo gets white tiger named ‘Kaveri’

Mangaluru: Under the animal exchange programme, Pilikula Biological Park received a female white tiger named ‘Kaveri’ and a female Ostrich from Arignar Anna Zoo in Chennai.

In return, Arignar Anna Zoo in Chennai received a male Bengal Tiger named ‘Sanjay,’ four Dholes, and other snake species from the Zoo.

Pilikula, which covers 150 acres, has been recognized as a large zoo by the Central Zoo Authority (CZA). The Western Ghats Zoo currently houses around 1,200 animals from 120 different species of mammals, reptiles, and birds.

Under the exchange programme, the zoo has 10 surplus mammals and three reptiles to give to other zoos.
