Police nab one in connection with Poinachi super market burglary

Kasaragod: The local police have nabbed one among the three suspects in connection with a super market burglary in Poinachi on the night of October 6.

Sayeed (26), a resident of Cherkapara was nabbed by the police based on the clues obtained from the CCTV footage.

It may be recalled that a group of three men had broken into Al-Madeena super market and had decamped with Rs 2.10 Lakh cash and other valuables on the night of October 6.

Sayeed, jailed earlier is accused in 12 different cases. Cases are registered against him Hosadurga, Bekal and Vidyanagar police stations. He is also accused in a rape case within Bekal police station limits. He was absconding after the Poinachi super market robbery.

The accused had broken into the super market soon after their release from jail in another robbery case committed in Valiyanadu of Taliparamba under Kannur Police station limits. Police suspect his role in one more super market robbery prior to Poinachi robbery.

Police have taken Sayeed into their custody and are investigating. They are also on the lookout for the other two involved in the super market burglary.
