Venoor: The police are probe into the love failure angle in suicide case of state-level kho-kho player Sushmitha (17), who was found dead in a well at her residence at Kokrady here on Saturday.
As per sources, Sushmitha was in love with a youth from Charmady, who is employed in Mangaluru. It is said that the youth was avoiding Sushmitha and late on Friday night, the two had a heated argument through SMSes, following which she must have ended life. It is said that the argument is the main reason behind the teenager killing self.
Sushmitha, who was persuing II PUC (commerce) in Kokrady Government Pre University College had returned home on Friday along with her brother Sukshith and had sat for the day’s revision. It is said that after dinner when the parents went off to sleep the sibling watched TV.
At about 2.30 am, Sushmitha’s father Mohan Bhandary woke up after realising that the children had not turned off a light. On reaching the drawing room to switch off the light, he noticed that Sushmitha was missing. After night long search, her body was traced to the well in the courtyard on Saturday morning.
