Mangaluru: Following reports of HJV activists murdering a fellow activist of the same outfit on February 18, Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) convenor Ravi Raj at a press meet held on Tuesday, February 21 stated that neither the victim nor the attackers were members of their organisation and it was merely an attempt to tarnish the image of the outfit.Demanding a probe into the case and booking the miscreants at the earliest, he said that awareness programmes organised by HJV usually sees a huge public participation and it was not necessary that all those have to be affiliated to the outfit.

It may be recalled that a group of ten people had assaulted Pratap and Manikanta- said to be two members of HJV, with an intention to kill the latter. However while Manikanta escaped the deadly attack, Pratap who was accompanying Manikanta at that time succumbed to the injuries.

HJV secretary Subhas Padil, convenor Amith Kumar, Ganapathy and others were present.
