President’s Mangaluru visit: Protocol to be in place: DC Rajendra

Mangaluru: President Ram Nath Kovind will tour the State from October 6 to 9. “He will be staying in Mangalore on October 7 and 8,” said Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K. V.

In a video conversation organised from Bengaluru on Wednesday September 29 he said that the Government’s Chief Secretary P. Ravi Kumar informed him about the preparations for the President’s stay.

To accommodate the President in the District on October 7 and 8, his office and staff will be neatly arranged and to accommodate him as directed by his office tidying up of Circuit House including furniture, curtains and kitchen will be taken up. An experienced chef will be deployed for his food arrangements and also security will be put in place on the route he will travel from airport to the guest house.

The Public Works Engineer of the Public Works Department has been instructed to have an ambulance, paramedic team, get the roads repaired, and also mainly ensure all the Covid as well as security guidelines are complied with, and that the liaising and other officers concerned will be deputed to ensure that the President’s programme is not in anyway compromised, he added.

The President will be staying in Mangaluru in the background of his visit to Sringeri on October 8.
