Kasargod: One main accused has been arrested by the investigating team in connection with Kudlu co-operative bank robbery case on Thursday.Shareef (42) from Kalpare in Bandyodu is the arrested. Gold weighing 10kg has been recovered. The accused had hidden the gold under a coconut tree in his house. Now with the arrest of Shareef, the number of arrested has gone upto 3. K A Mohammad Shabeer(27) from Chowki Badar and Abdul Mahashook(25) from Chowki Kunnil were arrested earlier.
Shareef was arrested at Karwar railway station by Karwar police and the investigation team from Kasargod. He has been brought to Kasargod for further questioning. Police raided the house and recovered the gold. Total 21kg gold and 13 lakhs of cash was robbed and Shareef has accepted that remaining 11kg of gold is with other accused.
Shareef got half of the total robbed gold and remaining gold was shared by other accused. The robbery took place in broad daylight on September 7.
