CM Bommai initially paid a visit to District Wenlock Hospital, where he officially inaugurated the new 32-bed ICU unit. With the third wave in mind, he said that similar facilities will be established in all Taluk and District hospitals, ensuring that the Health Department is well prepared for the Covid situation. “However, this needs speedy implementation which I will discuss with the concerned officials, during the review meeting,” he said.

“Owing to the lessons learnt during the first wave, when the spread of Covid was due to people entering from Maharashtra and Kerala, there is strict vigilance at border locations this time. I decided to visit these districts that share a border with these two states since preventative actions in these places are essential. I have already visited Mysuru, now I am on visit to Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district. It is very important to check the spread of Covid in these places,” he stressed.
