Mangalore: Job creation for local talent and enhancing trade with Lakshadweep will be given top priority in future, assued incumbent Member of Legislative Assembly and Mangaluru (South) Congress candidate J R Lobo.
Addressing the members of Advocates’ Union at a private hotel in the city, J R Lobo said the only way to prevent young talent from going overseas is to create lucrative jobs so that they remain with their families and contribute to the development of state.
Foreign investment flow in Information Technology ( IT) sector can boost job generation in the coastal region, Lobo said stressing on city’s potential for growth in terms of rail, sea and air connectivity.
In addition,trade from old port to Lakshadweep will be enhanced in the coming days, assured J R Lobo. A delegation has already visited the island and communication between people,logistic support and trade between port city and island will improve a great deal in the coming days, Lobo said.
“Road widening leading to district court premises in is progress as the earlier narrow lane caused lot of inconvenience. A Rs 12 Crore project to develop the road is underway which was sanctioned during my tenure. The work got delayed on account of certain technical problems because the building is located at a high altitude.On completion of concretisation, the road will be opened to public”, MLA Lobo said.
