Private bus overturns at Pachanady, over 15 passengers injured

Mangaluru: As many as 15 passengers were injured when a private bus overturned near Pachanady railway gate on Saturday, December 22.

According to the sources, the private bus ‘Fathima’, route No 14, plying between Kankanady and Pachanady turned turtle near the railway gate at around 6.30 PM. Before turning turtle, the bus had already rammed into three ongoing vehicles. Due to this, as many as 15 passengers were injured.

Soon after the incident, the locals attempted to rescue the passengers and few of them were shifted to nearby a private hospital. Among the injured, the condition of one person is said to be very critical.

The reason for the accident is said to be brake failure, sources said.
