Mangaluru: Karnataka Bank is all set to launch its Centenary Celebration and Founders’ Day function on Saturday, Feb 18 2023 at 4 p.m. On this day the Bank will kick start year-long centenary celebrations and Prof. S Sadagopan, Former Director, IIIT, Bengaluru will deliver the Founders’ Day Lecture at the  Bank’s Head Office auditorium in Mangaluru. 

Professor Sadagopan an alumnus of Madras University, India and Purdue University, USA is an expert and an authority in the field of Information Technology. Professor Sadagopan is consulted widely and lectures extensively on various aspects of Information Technology (IT) by virtue of his vast teaching experience of about 25 years at premier educational institutes of the country and abroad viz. IIT Kanpur, IIM Bangalore, IIT Madras, IIIT Bangalore, Rutgers USA, AIT Bangkok and many other reputed institutions. 

He is also an academician/scholar par excellence, authored seven books, several book chapters and papers which are widely referred to and quoted in the academic and research fields. He is a Fellow of IEE (UK) and the Computer Society of India. He is a senior member of IEEE, ACM and AIS and is currently the Chairman of IIITDM Kancheepuram. Professor Sadagopan has also been serving on the Boards of various leading corporate institutions and universities in the country. The programme will be conducted at the Bank’s Head Office auditorium at Mangaluru and will be presided over by P Pradeep Kumar, Chairman of the Bank.

The Founders’ Day Lecture will be followed by a Carnatic Classical Music Concert named ‘Strings Attached’, a Violin-Veena duo by renowned artists Vidwan R Kumaresh and Vidushi Dr Jayanthi Kumaresh. They will be accompanied by Vidwan K U Jayachandra Rao on Mridangam and Vidwan Pramath Kiran on Tabla & Morching. The Founders’ Day celebrations will be broadcast live through ‘All India Radio’ Mangaluru. “Namma Kudla” and “Namma TV”, popular TV Channels of the coastal Region will telecast the event live. The event will also be streamed live on Bank’s official social media handles Youtube, Facebook etc.

While stepping into the 100th year, we pledge to continue to stay relevant as a Strong, Vibrant and Digital Bank for many more centuries in realizing the dreams of the Founders and the subsequent torch-bearers of the Bank” said Mahabaleshwara M.S, MD & CEO of the Bank.
