Property damage reported due to thundershowers in Coastal K’taka

Mangaluru: Thundershowers swept across several parts of coastal area on the evening of Saturday April 9.

Belthangadi, Puttur, Bantwal, Moddabidre, Mulki, Mangaluru, Panambur, Kinnigoli, and Mulki experienced rain around 8.00 pm. Rainfall was also reported in the districts of Kasaragod and Udupi.

Property damage has been recorded as a result of Saturday’s rainfall. According to sources, roof of one of the houses in Noozibaltila village was blown away due to heavy winds. Lightening stuck in another house at Peraje in Bantwal, injuring two people. The walls of the house developed cracks in the incident.

Thunderstorms are expected along the coast over the next 24 hours, informed the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
