PUC student passes way due to suspected rabies

Mangaluru: A PUC student here is suspected to be a victim of rabies.

The deceased has been identified as Vinci Saramma (17), a resident of Kedila in Alangar village. Vinci was admitted to a local hospital in the wake of severe headache. Later she was shifted to Wenlock Hospital, Mangaluru for further treatment and died as she failed to respond to the treatment.

The health officials have inspected the home of deceased. It is said that Vinci’s pet dog had passed away 6 months ago due to rabies, and hence it is suspected that she might have been infected with the same.
