Mangaluru: Karnataka Bank will provide a new look to the Mahaveer (Pumpwell) Circle in the coming days, said MS Mahabaleshwara, Managing Director and CEO on Thursday.
Work on the Rs 1.1 crore project covering the 3.1 km stretch from KPT Junction to Mahaveer Circle commenced on Thursday, on the median of National Highway 66, and Mahabaleshwara said that the bank was committed to giving back to society and the barricades and median gardens being provided as a part of its CSR initiative.
While the barricades would ensure the safety of the general public, the garden would enhance the beauty of the city.
Bank Chairman P Jayarama Bhat inaugurated the new facility at Nanthoor in the presence of MLA D Vedavyasa Kamath. Deputy Commissioner KV Rajendra, Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar, Superintendent of Police BM Laxmi Prasad, and Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner Akshy Sridhar were present.
