On October 25, the accused had tied up the occupants of the house- the lady of the house and her maid and fled with valuable.
The local villagers believed that Vishnu Bhat’s house had a treasure and Shabari Kumar, who was working in the areca plantation of Vishnu Bhat found it suspicious when Bhat’s wife restricted him from going near a small temple inside their house.
Soon Shabari informed about the same to his friend Praveen Kumar, who contacted Suresh Acharya, a goldsmith. Acharya then contacted some rowdies, who in turn gave him a suggestion to get into touch with Yashodhar Shetty, an accused in Pandu Pai murder case.
