Mangaluru: As COVID-19 cases have been increasing in Ullal police station limits, MLA U T Khader has informed that measures will be taken to have random testing in some selected areas of his constituency.

Addressing reporters here on Saturday, June 27, Khader said that as the COVID-19 cases steadily increasing in his constituency, random testing at some selected areas will be done soon. Those who have symptoms of COVID-19 should voluntarily come forward for testing,” he said.

“As the disease has been spread to Ullal police station, random testing has been undertaken at the houses of all police personnel and their contacts. Meanwhile, awareness will be created in this regard among the people,” Khader added.

Khader condemned the move of union government to hike the oil prices on a daily basis. “It is common that the price of petrol will be always higher than the prices of diesel. However, now the price of diesel has crossed the price of petrol. Though the oil prices in the international market are less, the union government has been increasing the oil prices in India putting the commoner into trouble. With this, the union government has set a new record. Opposing the move of BJP led union government on increasing the fuel prices, Congress would hold a protest meet in the district on Monday, June 29,” Khader added.
