Refusal to wear Hijab, students boycott exam in Uppinangady PU College

Mangaluru: In an incident that was reported from Uppinangady Pre-University College in Puttur Taluk of the Dakshina Kannada District, despite High Court verdict, the girl students arrived wearing Hijabs on Friday March 18. The students came wearing Hijabs to preparatory exams being held at the college.

However, In the background of college management refusing to allow the students to enter classes, the students expressed their outrage. Following this, they also refused to attend the examinations. Moreover, they gathered near the college disrupting the students appearing for the exams.

Finally, the students had to be persuaded by the Muslim community leaders and college management to move out of the college campus. Thereafter, the girls who boycotted the examination returned home.
