Mangaluru: The renovated Mallikatta Circle in Kadri built at a cost of Rs 21 Lakh by Bhandary Builders was formally inaugurated on Saturday, December 22.
Former MLA J R Lobo inaugurated the circle in the presence of Mangaluru Mayor Bhaskar K and Deputy Mayor Mohammed K among others. After inaugurating the circle, Lobo said, “As Bhandary Builders Proprietor Lakshmish Bhandary has utmost concern about the beauty of our city, he has spent a total of Rs 21 Lakh to renovate the circle. If every builder shows similar concern for our city, it will develop rapidly”, he said.
Mayor Bhaskar K said, “This renovated circle is a contribution to the Smart City project. MCC would extend its complete cooperation towards the development of the city. ‘Bhandary Builders’ have already developed two more circles adjacent to the Mallikatta circle”, he added.
The circle was beautified to include an artwork designed by artist Rajendra Kedige. The metal work was done by Mohammed Imran and Gokul Raj. The artworks done at the circle indicates the the culture of Tulunadu and comprises details on Panjurli Paddana, Yakshagana, Dravidian origin of Tulu language, poets Ratnakaravarni and Kumaravyasa. The circle is decorated with stone pillars, lighting, lawns and flower bearing plants.
Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Corporators Ashok D K, Appi, Praveenchandra Alva, Deepak Poojary, Akhila Alva, Nagaveni, Asha D’Silva, Kavitha, artist Rajendra Kedige, Bhandary Builders Proprietor Lakshmish Bhandary and Adviser Venu Sharma among others were present.
