Kasargod: Robbers looted a jewelry shop belonging to District Jewelers Association Secretary and decamped with 450 grams of gold, 4 kg silver and Rs 10,000 cash in the wee hours of October 4th at Kundamkuzhy in Kasaragod.
They gained entry to the shop that belonged to K Ashok breaking open the shutter by using electric cutters. Power supply to the cutter was drawn from the switch point outside the shop and later the robbers broke open the cash box and mini locker. It appears they failed in their attempt to break open the big locker which remained intact after the robbery.
They pulled back the shutters after the robbery due to which the incident came to light very late in the day.
District Superintendent of Police, Thomson Jose, Circle Inspector C B Thomas along with forensic experts and dog squad rushed to the spot.
Further investigations are in progress.
