Kasaragod: Excise sleuths in Manjeshwar seized Rs 20 Lakh spiked currency from Hawala operators in a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus (KSRTC).
Abdul Khadar (42) was nabbed by the excise sleuths at the check post.
On a definite tip off, the officers interrogated a person named Gafoor in the bus which led to the seizure of Hawala cash. There were reports agog about huge amount of cash and liquor transfer from Karnataka to Kerala.
Recently, the Kasaragod police too had nabbed five persons and seized Rs 6 Lakh cash. It is gathered, money was being shipped from Mumbai to Kasaragod in this case.
