Mangaluru: The series of protests from the Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) following the murder of RSS worker Rudresh in Bengaluru has made the Congress leaders think that it was all a political game.

Addressing a news conference on Friday, MLC Ivan D’Souza said that murder of any human being will be dealt with seriously. Officers of the law are striving hard in this case to catch the culprits and know about their whereabouts. “Six separate investigation teams have been formed so that wherever in India the culprits are, they will be nabbed. Around 35 suspects have been interrogated regarding the murder of the RSS worker,”Ivan said.

“There is pressure being put on the government by BJP in this matter. There is no need to make it a communal issue and go on about it to criticize the Government just because they have to. In the Baliga murder case and Praveen Poojary murder case, there were no protests or condolences given by BJP leaders. Likewise, in Rudresh’s case we are trying our best to bring justice to his murder”, he said after saying that the whole issue is politicized.

Responding to a statement saying that the party leaders are involved in corruption in the Yettinahole project including the Chief Minister, Ivan said that there is no such thing that is happening as everything is accounted for. “First of all, the plan for this project was made by the BJP before the Congress came to power and the approval was also given by them. We are just carrying forward the project because it can help bring water to the dry places of Bengaluru”, he stated.

When informed about the fact that Indian Institute of Science experts’ statement saying that a substantial amount of water can not be diverted from this project, Ivan D’Souza said he was unaware of it and a meeting will be called for in the coming days to have a discussion with the experts on this matter.
