Mangaluru: A St Aloysius College alumna, Shifali Saldanha was crowned as first runner-up of the Miss India Continent 2019 title and winner of the Miss Glory of International title recently.
Hetal from Gujarat won the beauty contest while Anushree from South Africa was the second runner-up in the Miss India Continent 2019, held on November 24. Around 15 contestants from different parts of the country were shortlisted for the finale, which had a total of five rounds. Shifali (23) was one of the 15 contestants who participated in the pageant, which was organised by Dr Mahesh Yadav and was held at Hotel Mumbai House.
The theme of the beauty pageant was ‘Beauty fights for the country first and Amity of India’. Senior actor Ramesh Goyal and music composer Afroz Khan were the chief guests of the event. Celebrity guest judge Swapnil Sukhla, who is also a Miss Asia Continent 2019 title holder, was also present.
Shifali is the daughter of Stephen Saldanha and late Anupama Saldanha. She completed her Masters of Business Administration in Finance and HR at St Aloysius College.
She secured the first place in a science talent examination and was also a semi-finalist in the “Big singer for J” reality show. Besides that, she has anchored a reality show “Face of Tharam” and other corporate and wedding events. She was also part of the jury for the auditions of ‘Mrs Super Mom 2019’, ‘Pride of Karnataka 2019’ and ‘Mr and Miss Alpha 2019’. She has won other titles such as Miss Karnataka International Multimedia 2018 and Miss Beautiful Eyes Mangaluru 2018.
Her first runner-up title and Miss Glory of International title are now an addition to her list of achievements.
