SAC hosts Wheelchair Cricket Match as a part of Kanasu-2019 Disability Awareness Mth

Mangaluru: St. Aloysius College (Autonomous) will be organizing a Wheelchair Cricket Match between the Maharashtra Wheelchair Cricket Team and the Karnataka Wheelchair Cricket Team on December 8, 2019, as a part of Kanasu – 2019 Disability Awareness Month December 2019 under Sahodaya, an outreach programme of the College. It will be a 20 over match. A total of 40 Players and support staff will take part in the tournament.

The grand inauguration will be held on Sunday, December 08, 2019 at 09:30 AM at the Sahyadri College Grounds. SRI A. Sadananda Shetty, Chairman, Shree Devi Education Trust, Mangaluru will be the Chief Guest. SRI N.G Mohan Chief Commissioner, Bharat Scouts and Guides will be the Guest of Honour. Rev Dr. Praveen Martis S.J. Principal, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru will be the President of the Inaugural Ceremony.

The post-match presentation will be held on Sunday, December 08, 2019 at 03:30 PM at the St Aloysius Pre – University Ground. SRI U. RAJESH NAIK Member of Legislative Assembly, Govt. of Karnataka will be the Chief Guest. Rev Dr. Praveen Martis S.J. Principal, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru will be the guest of honor. Rev. Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ – Rector, St Aloysius Institutions will be President of the post-match presentation.

Sahodaya, the outreach programme, for the empowerment of the Specially Abled was started in 2000 to conscientize the staff and the students towards the needs and aspirations of the Differently Abled. The outreach programme has been constantly working with groups and institutions catering to the needs of such people. We are proud to say that the Sahodayans have imbibed the spirit of growing together and lend their mite towards empowering people with disabilities even after completion of their studies.
