Schools reopen for students of classes 1 to 5 in M’luru

Mangaluru: Schools in Dakshina Kannada District has reopened on Monday October 25 for students of classes 1 to 5 adhering to Covid-19 guidelines. A decision in this regard was made as the positivity rate in the District is significantly low.

According to the officials, the response of students to the opening of high schools and higher primary schools is lukewarm. As a result, officials have instructed schools to assist children in adapting to the school environment for a week before beginning classes.

According to the sources, students will be subjected to thermal screening and made to sit in classes with a one-metre distance between them. Every day, the school will be disinfected by spraying sodium hypochlorite solution, and the school staff will also take further Covid precautions that is required. Parental consent documents are required of students are told to attend school. As a result, students cannot be forced to go to schools. If the parents demand online classes, the same must be provided.

In all 1,57,562 students in classes 1 to 5 will attend classes in Dakshina Kannada. Classes will be held three days a week on alternate days. From November 2, classes will be held on a regular basis.

Teachers must be vaccinated, and masks must be worn by both the teachers and students.

As per the reports, parents’ meetings were held with the participation of district level officials, including block education officers, in preparation for the reopening of the schools, and opinions of the parents were gathered. Parents have indicated that they are willing to send their children to school.
