SDM Ujire organizes home visits to reinforce concept of gram swaraj

Mangaluru: “The Covaxin can be taken without any fear. Already vaccination drive has been started and the villagers should voluntarily come forward to vaccinate themselves against Covid 19,” said Ashalatha, president of Kuvettu village panchayat.

She was speaking after inaugurating the program on Gram Swaraj, jointly organized by the political science department of SDM College, Ujire, and Kuvettu village panchayat. She said “The Gram Swaraj program will educate the people of the village and create a conducive environment for development.

Dr. Shalif AP, head of the Department of Political science said, “our department has organized home visits to reinforce the concept of gram swaraj. This year we are focusing on creating awareness on Covid vaccine, waste management issues among the people of the village, he added.

Village Panchayat PDO Srinivas, Vice President Pradeep Shetty, Member Manjunath Kumble, Lecturer Nataraj HK, and Lakshmikantha Rai, villagers and students were present.

After the function, the students made an effort to educate the villagers by visiting the houses and distributing pamphlets.
