Mangaluru: Famous Bollywood actress, Shilpa Shetty, who hails from Dakshina Kannada, returned to her roots along with her businessman husband Raj Kundra and three-year-old son Viaan. Shilpa Shetty on Thursday arrived in the coastal district to visit famous temples.
The family arrived at Mangaluru International Airport and directly headed to Shri Durgaparameshewari Temple in Kateel to fulfil her vow to ‘Kateeldappe Ullalthi’.
After performing special pooja in the temple the couple and little boy visited the Bollywoood celebrity’s hometown Mudalady near Niddodi in the district. At Shetty’s ancestral home the family members enjoyed the day. They tasted neer-dosa and also played with a 15-day-old calf in the courtyard.
Replying to the queries of media persons on her visit, the star said: “I am a huge believer in the presiding deity at Kateel, and had vowed to visit the temple after the birth of our child.”
“Maybe this visit to my home town was her way to bring me over and help me fulfil my vow,” she said.
Admitting that Viaan keeps her busy, Shilpa said, “I am guilty of not being able to come to Mangaluru as often as I want to. My life revolves around my son. I make it a point to take him to work or holiday. I am quite religious. I know all the daivas and boothas by their name.”
